Built for one room
A lot of the upholstery that suits a house in Alderley Edge is not bought off a shop floor. For window seats and kitchen benches, we cut firm high-resilience foam to the shape, with a softer wrap if you want one, and make box cushions with zips and piping, or ties, lined underneath so they do not slide. Kitchen banquettes and panelled walls
Where a kitchen has fixed seating, the upholstery is usually a trade job alongside a joiner. Our kitchen banquette commission shows one we made to fit someone else’s carpentry. The same approach extends to upholstered wall panelling behind a bed or a seating area, where the panels need to line up with the room rather than with a catalogue.
Working to a designer’s specification
If an interior designer is running the project, we work from their brief: drawings, a fabric reference and quantities. We will use the supplier they have chosen, suggest a practical alternative if a cloth will not stand up to a seat, and send an itemised quote so the client can see what each piece costs. Restaurants and bars on London Road
London Road runs through the village with its restaurants and bars. If you run one of them, commercial seating is done in Crib 5 fabric with combustion-modified foam, quoted item by item, and the work can be phased around trading hours.
