Read moreOpenshaw is one of the quickest journeys we make into Manchester, a straight fifteen minutes along Ashton Old Road. It falls naturally on the same collection run as Droylsden and Denton.
The housing stock here means plenty of older frames, and older frames are usually good news. A sofa built with a hardwood frame and tied springs is worth recovering; a modern one built on staples and chipboard often is not. We will tell you which one you have got before you spend anything, and we would rather turn work away than take money for a piece that will not last.
Foam is a common one locally too – seat cushions that have collapsed but where the cover is still perfectly good. That is a cheap fix compared with a full recover, and we cut foam to size in the workshop.

- You can choose from hundreds of fabrics and leathers in our Stalybridge showroom — Cristina Marrone, Rosemount Fabrics, Ross Fabrics, Sunbury Designs, Warwick, Wemyss, Agua, Futura Leathers, Crest Leather, Nene Valley Leathers and more — priced from about £15 per metre to around £120 per metre.
- What guarantee do you offer?
- Workmanship is guaranteed, with a two-year craftsmanship guarantee on production and contract work. Fabric durability is governed by the supplier's own rub-test rating; we'll explain that when you choose.
