Read moreWilmslow is about thirty minutes from Stalybridge, down through Cheadle. We collect here by arrangement rather than on a fixed weekly route. Grove Street, The Carrs and Alderley Road are regular stops. Alderley Edge has its own page if that is the house you mean.
A good deal of what we do at this end is specification work: an interior designer or a client has chosen a fabric and needs someone who can actually execute it on a frame that deserves the treatment. We work with the fabric houses most designers specify, we can order and hold cloth, and we will make a sample or recover a single chair first so colour and comfort get signed off under real light before the whole set is committed.
Traditional work is the other half of it. Where a piece has hand-tied springs and a hardwood frame, that is what we do best, and it is worth the journey. Leather suites, dining chairs and headboards for the bigger principal bedrooms are typical. We will say if a frame is not worth recovering.
Grove Street cafés and the occasional hotel piece are quoted to Crib 5 with the certificate in the pack. Photos and a seat count are enough for an indicative figure the same day.
