What affects price -- for homes
- Fabric metreage. A 3-seater sofa typically takes 12-18 metres; a chesterfield closer to 22. Patterned fabric needs more for matching. We calculate metreage for you before you buy.
- Foam grade. High-resilience Reflex foam is the workshop default. Reflex is cheaper for back cushions; dryfast is dearer for marine and caravan use. Try the instant foam calculator →
- What's under the cover. Hand-tied springs, hessian and horsehair on antique pieces are slower work than modern serpentine springs. We tell you what's there before we commit.
- Detail work. Buttoning, fluting, piping and contrast panels add labour. We price each detail explicitly so you can choose.
- Collection & delivery. Free across SK postcodes. Otherwise a small charge depending on access and distance.
What affects price -- for contract
- Specified fabric and FR cert. Fabric is specified to brief; quoted itemised against your project details. Crib 5 / Crib 7 / IMO certificates supplied with the quote and again at sign-off.
- Foam to grade. Combustion-modified (CM) for contract and hospitality, antimicrobial finishes for healthcare. Volume break-points apply on larger orders.
- Scale and lead time. Phased delivery and on-site install windows priced into the quote. We schedule around closures, holiday windows and trading hours rather than against them.
- Account terms. PO accepted with 30-day standard terms. References, named contacts and case studies on request as part of the proposal.
- Templating and logistics. On-site templating where the brief calls for it. Collection, delivery and fitting windows are quoted to your site before work starts.

Pricing — what people ask.
- Are these prices final?
- No — they're indicative ranges based on typical jobs. Final price depends on fabric metreage (we'll calculate it for you), foam grade, structural condition under the cover, and access for collection. Your quote is free, clear and no obligation.
- We have a settee and 2 armchairs to recover, do you take them all at once?
- No — We do not want to leave you sitting on garden furniture while we recover your items, instead we liaise with you and take the pieces in stages. When we return one item we take the other.
- What's included in the price?
- Strip-back, frame check, new webbing/springs/foam where needed, hand-stitched seams, piping, buttoning where specified, and refit. Fabric is on top — partly because we want you to choose, partly because the metreage varies a lot piece to piece.
- How do I get an exact quote?
- Send photos by message, email, or WhatsApp. For sofas, suites and anything bespoke we'll come and measure. We'll come back the same day for most pieces with a confirmed price and a likely finish date.
- Do you charge for collection and return?
- Just £30 + VAT for collection and return (£15 each way) across SK and M34 postcodes. — usually under £45 + VAT for anywhere in Greater Manchester.
- Do you take card / invoice / PO?
- Cards (in-shop), bank transfer, and PO with 30-day terms for commercial / contract / education / healthcare jobs. Domestic jobs are usually small deposit at collection, balance on delivery.
