In scope

What we cover.

  • Pub and bar reupholstery -- fixed seating, booths and bar stools
  • Restaurant booth and banquette seating, full strip-back or in-situ recover
  • Bar stools, dining chairs, tub chairs and lounge furniture
  • Hotel headboards and bedroom chairs to room-set spec
  • Bench seating made-to-measure for fixed installations
  • Crib 5 fire-retardant fabrics and combustion-modified foam
  • Work scheduled around trading hours, with overnight options for hotels
  • Two-year craftsmanship guarantee on contract pieces

We recover seating for pubs, bars, restaurants, cafes, clubs and hotels across Greater Manchester and the North-West from our Stalybridge workshop. Commercial work runs to a different rule book than domestic – the fabric has to pass Crib 5, the foam has to be combustion-modified, the timeline has to fit around your trading hours, and every seat has to land back in position before doors open.

Pub upholstery Manchester

Pub upholstery Manchester searches peak when licensees need booth seating, bar stools or a full banquette run recovered before a busy weekend. We are based in Stalybridge (twenty-five minutes from the city centre), #1 in the local pack for bar reupholstery, and we phase pub work across Greater Manchester so venues keep trading. See upholstery in Manchester for collection routes and site visits.

Pub seating upholstery

Pub seating upholstery is the phrase most venue managers search when fixed benches, booths and loose chairs need recovering. We quote pub seating reupholstery from photos, rough linear metres and seat counts, then visit larger sites across Greater Manchester to measure and check fixings. Banquettes are recovered in Crib 5 fabric or wipe-clean vinyl; single split seats can be colour-matched to the rest of the run. See our dedicated pub seating and banquettes service for bar-specific pricing and turnaround.

Pub and bar reupholstery

Pub and bar reupholstery is our core hospitality work: fixed bench seating, booths, bar stools, padded counter fronts and the loose chairs around the room. Bar furniture takes a harder life than anything in a home, so we strip tired seats back, replace failed foam and recover in contract-grade fabric built for daily wear and constant cleaning. Recent proof includes the Black Bull pub refit in Stalybridge, Preston pub seating, bar stools in numbers that fill a transit van, and pub seating sections across Tameside and Greater Manchester.

Restaurant booth and banquette seating

For restaurants we cover booth and banquette seating as a full run or a single seat. Banquettes are priced by section or linear metre, recovered in Crib 5 fabric, faux leather or wipe-clean vinyl. If one booth has split or sagged, we recover just that seat and colour-match it to the rest of the run rather than redoing the whole row. Restaurant dining chairs, tub chairs and lounge furniture are recovered in matching batches so the room stays consistent.

Hotel and contract upholstery

Hotels and contract clients get the same Crib 5 spec applied at volume. We recover bedroom chairs and tub chairs to a room-set standard, rebuild and re-cover hotel headboards in batch quantities, and produce made-to-measure bench seating for fixed installations in lobbies and dining rooms. Whether you are an operator, a fit-out contractor or an interior designer specifying for a venue across the North-West, we quote to your fabric schedule and sign samples off before any order is placed.

Crib 5 fire-safety compliance for venues

We carry Crib 5 certification on every commercial cover we put up. Where the fabric you have specified is not natively Crib 5 we treat it on your behalf and certificate the lot. Foam in commercial seating is always combustion-modified – tested to BS 5852, and Crib 7 where the spec demands it. You get the test certificates with the quote and again when the job is signed off, so your fire-safety paperwork is complete for licensing and insurance.

Phased refits around your trading hours

Lead times depend on volume and access. Single banquettes turn around overnight, full pub refits over a week, hotel headboard runs over two to three weeks. We rotate sections through the workshop so you never lose more than a small share of seating at once, and we plan around quiet days, closure windows and overnight slots. Tell us your opening hours and we schedule the work backwards from them.

What to send for a venue quote

Send photos of each seating type, rough quantities, linear metres for banquettes, your opening hours, any closure windows, the site address, deadline, fire-rating requirements and the best PO or accounts contact. If access is tight, tell us where the van can load and whether seating can come out in sections. Your quote will set out labour, fabric, foam, collection or fitting, lead time, VAT and any Crib 5 certification or fabric treatment required before work starts.

What customers say

From customers in this sector.

“We asked John and the team to fabricate cushions for the seating (pews etc.) at St. Mark's church — Dukinfield. The quality of workmanship is excellent, the team agreed a schedule, communicated effectively throughout the programme and delivered an excellent product. The attention to detail and quality is excellent and I would have no hesitation in recommending Valley Upholstery for this type of work — if you want to see their work for yourself — visit St. Mark's for a Sunday service (10.30 a.m.) and enjoy the comfort of our super comfy pews!”

Frequently asked

Common questions in hospitality.

How long does reupholstery take?
Most domestic projects take two to four weeks from collection to delivery. Caravans usually run two to three weeks. Single dining chairs are often back within a week. We agree the timeline up front and stick to it.
What guarantee do you offer?
Workmanship is guaranteed, with a two-year craftsmanship guarantee on production and contract work. Fabric durability is governed by the supplier's own rub-test rating; we'll explain that when you choose.
Do you supply Crib 5 fire-rated foam and fabric for pubs, restaurants and venues?
Yes. All hospitality, commercial and public-sector work uses combustion-modified foam and fabrics tested to BS 5852 Crib 5 (and Crib 7 where the spec requires it). We provide the test certificates with every quote and again when the job is signed off.
Do you do commercial and hospitality jobs?
Yes. Pubs, restaurants, cafes, hotels, offices, healthcare, retail, schools, colleges and universities. We work to fire safety regulations (Crib 5 where required) and around your trading hours.
Are you fire-safety compliant?
Yes, At Valley Upholstery, all our domestic upholstery meets British Standards BS 5852/BS 7176 for fire safety, and we also supply combustion-modified foam where the use case requires it. The cigarette and match tests required for home upholstery (often BS 5852) are critical safety assessments for upholstery fabrics, designed to prevent fires by simulating common ignition sources. A smouldering cigarette must not cause ignition or smouldering, while a lit match (or equivalent flame) held for 20 seconds must not cause sustained flaming. These tests are essential for UK home safety compliance. Commercial upholstery fire safety - fabrics in the UK must adhere to strict regulations, primarily requiring BS 5852 Crib 5 testing for high-risk areas like offices, hotels, and restaurants. Common materials include treated polyester, wool blends, and vinyl, which are designed to withstand smouldering cigarettes and butane flames.
Do you offer free quotes?
Yes. Free, no-obligation quotes by phone, email, in shop or, for larger jobs, on site.
