Clubs, stadiums and function rooms
Sports clubs, venues & events upholstery.
Clubhouse, stadium and function-room seating reupholstery across Greater Manchester and the North-West. Stadium seat shells, fixed seating runs, tub chairs and padded walls in Crib 5 fabric, scheduled around fixtures and bookings.

Around the fixtures
Batches and phased runs planned from your calendar, so the bar and the stand are open when they need to be.
Built for a crowd
Contract fabric, Crib 5 certificates and combustion-modified foam. Seats that get sat on hard, spilt on and cleaned every week.
Priced from a count
Photos and seat numbers become an itemised quote a committee or venue manager can approve.

Sports clubs, stadiums, function rooms and event spaces all have the same problem: a lot of seats, a hard life, and a calendar that never quite has a gap in it. We recover them from our Stalybridge workshop for clubs and venues across Greater Manchester and the North-West, in Crib 5 fabric, in club colours, and in batches timed to the fixture list. Recent work includes stadium seat shells for a non-league football ground, banquet seating and footstools for a Cheshire rugby club, padded impact walls for a golf simulator room and theatre-style seating for a lecture space. Send photos and a seat count via a commercial quote and we will come back with an itemised price.
Stadium and terrace seats
Stadium seat reupholstery covers the moulded bucket shells with padded inserts, the tip-up pads on older stands, and the swing seats found in some grounds and sports halls. We take a sample seat off its bracket, work out the fixing and the pad construction, then price the batch. Shells that are structurally sound keep their plastic; the pads are rebuilt in combustion-modified foam and covered in a contract vinyl or fabric that shrugs off rain, pies and weekly pressure washing. We have produced a visual for a forty-seat swing-seat run before the order was placed, so the club committee could see the colour on the seats rather than on a swatch.
Clubhouse and members’ bar seating
The clubhouse is where the money is taken, so it is usually where the recover starts. Clubhouse fixed seating is priced per linear metre and recovered in sections or in situ so the bar keeps trading. Tub chairs, loose dining chairs, bar stools and footstools are recovered in matched batches, and the bar front can be padded to match. This is the same work we do for pubs and hotels, with the same Crib 5 rule book, and the same pub seating per-metre pricing.
Function rooms and event spaces
Function rooms, wedding suites and events spaces trade on bookings, which means the seating has to look right in the photographs and the room cannot be out of action for long. We recover function-room seating in batches between bookings: banquette runs along the walls, stacks of loose chairs in identical fabric, sofas and armchairs for the lounge area, and headboards and bedroom chairs where the venue has rooms. If a venue runs an events diary, tell us the gaps and we will fill them.
Golf simulators, games rooms and sports halls
Golf simulator rooms, indoor cricket nets and games rooms need padded impact walls: foam-backed panels covered in a hard-wearing fabric that takes a ball or a shoulder without marking. We build panels to your wall dimensions, in the foam depth the room needs, and fit them or hand them over for your joiner. The same construction makes acoustic panels for a noisy bar or a meeting room. See upholstered wall panelling for how the panels are made and priced.
Lecture theatres and spectator seating
Tiered lecture and spectator seating with tip-up mechanisms is a specialism of its own. We cover it under cinemas and auditoriums, including the mechanism checks and closure-window scheduling that type of seat needs.
Crib 5 and the paperwork
Every seat in a licensed clubhouse or public venue is covered in fabric that passes Crib 5, on combustion-modified foam tested to BS 5852, and we hand over the certificates with the quote and again at sign-off. Where a fabric in your club colours is not natively Crib 5 we can have it treated and certificated. That keeps your licensing, insurance and safety-certificate file complete without you chasing it.
Around the fixtures
Tell us the fixture list, the function bookings and any closed days. Loose seats and shells go through the workshop in batches so the room is never empty. Fixed runs are recovered in sections, or in situ where lifting the run out is impractical. A members’ bar can usually be done across two or three quiet weekdays; a full stand is planned across the close season or a run of away fixtures.
What to send for a venue quote
Photos of each seat type and one of the room, the number of each, linear metres for fixed runs, the next date the room or stand has to be ready, club colours or a brand guide, and the best contact for a purchase order. Your quote sets out labour, fabric, foam, fitting, lead time, VAT and any Crib 5 treatment or certification.

How it works.
- 1
Photos and a count
Send photos of each seat type, the number of each, and a photo of the room. For stadium seats, one seat off its bracket tells us the fixing.
- 2
Fixture check
Tell us the fixture list, function bookings and closed days. We plan the work backwards from the next home game or event.
- 3
Sample and colours
Crib 5 fabric samples in club colours for committee or manager sign-off before anything is ordered.
- 4
Batches through the workshop
Loose seats and shells go through in batches so the room is never empty. Fixed runs are recovered in sections or in situ.

Back before kick-off
Seats refitted and walked round with you. Two-year craftsmanship guarantee and the fire certificates for your file.
Frequently asked
Common questions in sports clubs, venues & events.
- What guarantee do you offer?
- Workmanship is guaranteed, with a two-year craftsmanship guarantee on production and contract work. Fabric durability is governed by the supplier's own rub-test rating; we'll explain that when you choose.
- Can you recover our clubhouse or stand seating without closing on a match day?
- Yes. Send us the fixture list and any function bookings and we plan the work backwards from them. Loose chairs, stools and stadium seat shells go through the Stalybridge workshop in batches, so half the seating is always in place. Fixed runs in the members' bar are recovered in sections or in situ across quiet weekdays. A full stand is planned across the close season or a run of away fixtures.
- Do you recover stadium seats, or do we need to buy new shells?
- If the plastic shell and its bracket are sound we keep them and rebuild the padded insert: new combustion-modified foam, a contract vinyl or fabric that takes rain and pressure washing, and the fixing method matched to the shell. Send one seat off its bracket, or a clear photo of the underside, and the seat count. Cracked or brittle shells are cheaper to replace than repair, and we will tell you which is which before we quote.
- Do you supply Crib 5 fire-rated foam and fabric for pubs, restaurants and venues?
- Yes. All hospitality, commercial and public-sector work uses combustion-modified foam and fabrics tested to BS 5852 Crib 5 (and Crib 7 where the spec requires it). We provide the test certificates with every quote and again when the job is signed off.
- Do you do commercial and hospitality jobs?
- Yes. Pubs, restaurants, cafes, hotels, offices, healthcare, retail, schools, colleges and universities. We work to fire safety regulations (Crib 5 where required) and around your trading hours.
- Do you offer free quotes?
- Yes. Free, no-obligation quotes by phone, email, WhatsApp, in shop or, for larger jobs, on site. Unsure how it will look? Send photos of the piece, rough sizes, and the style or fabric you have in mind. We will send a written quote with example looks so you can decide with confidence. Looks are a guide (not a guarantee of exact fabric match); final finish is confirmed in the quote.
