Booth and banquette reupholstery and repair
Restaurant booth upholstery repair and banquette reupholstery across Greater Manchester: a whole run recovered, or one split seat repaired and matched to the rest. Crib 5 fabric, phased so you keep trading.
One seat or the whole run
A split seat is repaired and matched to its neighbours, or the full run is recovered. We say which suits the room.
Fire paperwork done
Crib 5 fabric and combustion-modified foam, with the certificates and care instructions in your handover pack.
Around service
Runs are split into sections, so the room never loses all its seating at once. A single banquette can turn around overnight.

The detail
Questions people ask about booth and banquette reupholstery and repair.
Booth and banquette seats split at a seam, burst at the seat front or sag as the foam goes, and in a busy room they do it in the same few spots. This is our page for booth reupholstering, restaurant booth upholstery repair and banquette upholstery in restaurants, pubs, cafés and hotels. We work one seat at a time or a whole run at a time, recovered in wipe-clean vinyl, faux leather or Crib 5 contract fabric at our Stalybridge workshop.
Restaurant booth seat repair: one seat, matched to the run
Restaurant booth seat repair is often a single seat: a split seam, a burst seat front, or a cushion that has gone flat. We recover that one seat and colour-match the fabric to the rest of the run, so you do not have to redo the whole row. The honest part is the match. Fabric that has faded over a few years will not sit identically beside new cloth, so before we quote we tell you whether a single seat will pass beside the old ones or whether recovering the whole booth is the better call. The same answer applies to a banquette section.
Booth reupholstering for a whole room
For booth reupholstering across a dining room we strip each section back, re-foam it and rebuild it. A booth run is the biggest single item in most dining rooms, so we price it after a look at how it is built, by the section or by the linear metre. A straight booth with a plain back is a different job from a fluted, buttoned or curved one, and the quote says which you have. If the existing foam is uneven or tired we say so before quoting, because new fabric over collapsed foam is a poor result.
Banquette upholstery
Banquette upholstery covers wall runs, window seating and corner banquettes. Along a wall or window the base is often built by a joiner with a thin pad on top, so we rebuild the pad on the existing base, replace foam that has collapsed and recover in a fabric that survives a coffee spill. Where the base itself has shifted or the plywood has cracked, that is quoted as a separate line so you can see what is wear and what is repair. Brass-headed nail trim or piping can be added to match your existing fittings.
Fixed seating recovering: in place or in the workshop
Not every booth can be moved. Where a run is fixed to the wall or floor and cannot move, we recover it in place; where it lifts out, sections come back to the Stalybridge workshop to be stripped, re-foamed and rebuilt. Either way we check how the seating is fixed before the quote is final. The site visit is free for venue jobs within about 15 miles of the workshop, and further afield by arrangement.
Vinyl, faux leather or contract fabric
Wipe-clean vinyl is the usual choice for booths and the seats nearest the kitchen: it cleans with a damp cloth between covers. Woven fabric reads warmer and suits quieter rooms, bar areas and evening-only service, but it needs a regular clean and shows wear sooner. Faux leather sits between the two. Public seating must pass Crib 5, over combustion-modified foam. Where the fabric you like is not natively Crib 5, we have it treated and certificated, and the handover pack holds the certificates and care instructions.
Booth and banquette jobs you can read in full
- The Townhouse Hotel, Manchester: a curved booth run of about 70 linear feet, recovered alongside 70 chairs to BS 7176 Crib 5, with no closure of the brasserie.
- Tesco staff room booths: seat-only recover of four 4 ft booth benches in a staff canteen, in Sunbury contract fabric in Moss, fitted in a single visit.
- The Black Bull pub refit: booths done first, with the pub closed for one evening, then banquettes in Crib 5 wool with brass-headed nail trim.
- Preston pub seating section: frame inspected, foam checked and the failed cover stripped before the visible faces were rebuilt, with fabric, foam and labour quoted separately.
- Kitchen banquette for a trade account: an L-shaped banquette built by the client and upholstered by us, in cream chenille with tartan-check back panels.
Working around service
A single banquette can turn around overnight. A longer run is split into sections and done on closed days, so a dining room never loses all its seating at once. For a full-room refit we plan the sequence backwards from your reopening date, so tell us when you are shut and the latest you can reopen.
Which page to start on
This page covers the seating itself. If you run a pub or bar and want the whole picture, including bar stools and counter fronts, start with pub seating upholstery and bar reupholstery. For the room as a whole, see restaurant and café seating, hotel furniture reupholstery and the hospitality overview. Contract work in other sectors is covered on our commercial upholstery page.
What to send
A photo of each booth or banquette run and of any damaged seat, roughly how many metres of fixed seating you have, whether the run lifts out, which days you are closed and any colour or fabric you must match. Send them through a booth and banquette quote request or on WhatsApp. We price it itemised.
Where we work

Frequently asked
Common questions about this service.
- What guarantee do you offer?
- Workmanship is guaranteed, with a two-year craftsmanship guarantee on production and contract work. Fabric durability is governed by the supplier's own rub-test rating; we'll explain that when you choose.
- Can you repair a single damaged restaurant booth seat rather than recovering the whole run?
- Yes. If one booth or banquette section has split, sagged or burst at a seam we can repair or recover just that seat and colour-match the fabric to the rest of the run. We will tell you honestly when a single-seat repair will look right against the others and when a fuller recover is the better call.
- Can you reupholster our bar and pub seating without closing the venue?
- In most cases, yes. We rotate fixed bench, booth and banquette sections through our Stalybridge workshop a part at a time, and recover loose bar stools and chairs in batches, so you never lose more than a small share of seating at once. For larger refits across Greater Manchester we phase the work around quiet days, closure windows or overnight slots agreed before we start.
- Do you supply Crib 5 fire-rated foam and fabric for pubs, restaurants and venues?
- Yes. All hospitality, commercial and public-sector work uses combustion-modified foam and fabrics tested to BS 5852 Crib 5 (and Crib 7 where the spec requires it). We provide the test certificates with every quote and again when the job is signed off.
- Do you do commercial and hospitality jobs?
- Yes. Pubs, restaurants, cafes, hotels, offices, healthcare, retail, schools, colleges and universities. We work to fire safety regulations (Crib 5 where required) and around your trading hours.
- Do you offer free quotes?
- Yes. Free, no-obligation quotes by phone, email, WhatsApp, in shop or, for larger jobs, on site. Unsure how it will look? Send photos of the piece, rough sizes, and the style or fabric you have in mind. We will send a written quote with example looks so you can decide with confidence. Looks are a guide (not a guarantee of exact fabric match); final finish is confirmed in the quote.
Booth split, banquette sagging?
Send photos, rough lengths and the days you are closed. We will price it itemised and plan the work around trading.
