Upholstered wall panelling

An upholstered wall is a headboard that has grown to fill the room: boards, foam and fabric, built to the wall dimensions and fixed so the face is clean. We make upholstered wall panels and padded feature walls in our Stalybridge workshop for homes, interior designers, kitchen and bedroom fitters, bars, restaurants and sports venues across Greater Manchester and the North-West. Recent work includes a set of customer-supplied MDF panels wrapped in a wicker-look fabric for a Cheshire kitchen fitter, cushioned impact panels for a golf simulator room and acoustic jackets trimmed to size. Headboard walls and bedroom feature walls

A padded headboard wall runs full width behind the bed, or is framed between two boards, and can be a single deep-buttoned panel or a grid of flat panels. We build the panels to the wall, in velvet, wool, linen-look or a contract fabric, and fit them with hidden fixings so the wall reads as one piece. This is the natural next step from a headboard, and the two can be made to match.

Feature walls for bars, restaurants and lounges

Panelled and fluted walls behind a bar, along a banquette or across a lounge give a room the same finish as the seating. We make them in Crib 5 contract fabric or wipe-clean vinyl, in panel sizes that match the seating and the fabric width, and fit them around the banquette run or hand them to your fit-out contractor. Impact panels for golf simulators and games rooms

Golf simulator rooms, indoor nets and games rooms need panels that take a ball or a body without marking. We build cushioned impact panels on a firm board with a foam depth chosen for the room, covered in a hard-wearing contract fabric, and fit them to the walls around the screen. Acoustic panels and jackets

Fabric-wrapped acoustic panels take the ring out of a noisy bar, a boardroom or a small studio. We wrap acoustic board or foam in an acoustically open fabric, trim acoustic jackets to size, and fit or supply them. Where the room also needs divider screens we build the two to match.

Your boards or ours

Kitchen fitters, bedroom fitters and joiners often have the boards cut already, sometimes in awkward handed shapes. Send them to us and we wrap them: foam to the face, fabric pulled and fixed on the back, returned ready to fit. If you would rather we cut the boards, we do that from your wall sizes. Either way the fabric layout is drawn first so the joins and any pattern land where they should.

Fabric and fire safety

Deep-pile fabrics such as velvet hide panel joins and forgive a wall that is not quite square; flat weaves and linen-looks show the grid, which is the point on a panelled wall. For any commercial room the fabric is Crib 5 and the foam is combustion-modified, with certificates supplied. For homes the choice is open; we will still steer you away from a fabric that will not take a vacuum.
